In order to celebrate 50 years of building beautiful machines, Mercedes-Benz AMG is going to be releasing three new special edition monsters at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division was founded in Affalterbach, Germany in 1967. Fast forward 50 years and the AMG division is going stronger than ever.
2017 M-B AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50
Powered by an awesome 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 making an impressive but the same as the normal edition - 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque.
Most of the differences are mainly cosmetic and limited to a matte designo graphite grey magno paint job along with black accenting. Black chrome on the side skirt trim, front splitter, trim strips in the air intakes of the Panamericana grille, fins on the side air outlets in the front fenders, on the rear diffuser and tailpipe trim elements. Surface of the cross-spoke AMG forged wheels compliments the black chrome exterior elements. Only 500 examples of the sinister matte-finished AMG GT C Roadster “Edition 50” will be made.
The edition 50 features the AMG Interior Night Package that includes steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels finished in black. Seats, door panels and other sections of the interior are skinned in Silver Pearl and Black Nappa leather with gray top stitching. The sweet spot is an AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfiber with "Edition 50" badging.
M-B AMG C63 Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition
Utilizing a sick ocean blue top with a exterior Cashmere White Magno paint, the C63 will be the most dramatic of the three special editions. Still, the C63 special edition will only get cosmetic changes like minor blue accents throughout the body panels, wheels and interior. All three will be extremely limited editions and considerably much more than their standard counterparts.
AMG forged wheels are in a cross-spoke design and are painted in titanium grey and are staggered—19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear.
Oceans blue's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that provides more then enough power for this beast, 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. She is no slouch with a 0-60 time of just 4 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph.
The AMG C63 S Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition has standard AIRSCARF neck-level heating and heated/ventilated seats, perfect for driving with the top down on nice and clear, chilly days.
2017 M-B AMG C43 Coupe and Cabriolet
Like the other 2 special editions, the C43 will have the same engine configuration found in the normal production models. The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 - 362 hp that drives all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is also going to feature black and grey accents similar to the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50.
